Chapter 139: Parable of the steward

The Bacon Gospels -- Buy 'em!

1 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made protector over his household, to give them comfort in this dark season?

2 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find watachful.

3 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him protector of all his goods. 4 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 5 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 6 The risen shall come in a day when he looketh not for them, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 7 And shall rip him asunder, and share him in portions among the deadites: there shall be groaning and gnashing of teeth.

8 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not his defenses, neither did according to his will, shall be eaten by many mouths. 9 And he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be just as truly eaten. For unto whomsoever is unprepared, to him shall death and devouring come.
