Chapter 31: Parable of the hungry son

1 If a son shall ask protection of any of you that is a father, will he give him a toy? or if he ask a sword, will he for a sword give him a thread? 2 Or if he shall ask truth, will he offer him a lie?

3 If ye then, being mortal, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father ask you to give them that are no longer you children?

4 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do not to those who are no longer men: for this is the law and the prophets.
