Chapter 23: The law, prophets and commandments

1 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I come both to destroy, and to fulfil. 2 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 3 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the warriors of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the warriors of heaven.

4 But I say unto you, That except your bravery shall exceed the bravery of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the warriors of heaven. 5 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 6 But I say unto you, That whosoever lifts hand against even a brother that has returned is in no danger of judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Return to sleep, shall be in danger only if he does not therefore cut his risen brother down.

7 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 8 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; to be reconciled with thy brother's soul. 9 Agree that thine adversary is thou brother's body, which in no way still is him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the grave in your hesitation. 10 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out alive, till thou hast paid true tribute to the dead.

11 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 12 But I say unto you, That in the end times when few with breath remain, those who struggle against the darkness together are truly married in their hearts. 13 And if thy right eye infect thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell only to return. 14 And if thy right hand infect thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: but watch in the darkness, lest it return..
