Chapter 125: Parable of the cowardly man

And he began to speak unto them by parables.

But what think ye? A certain cowardly man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go defend our home from the risen. 3 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he he worried for his father's cowardice, and went.

And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went and hid from danger. 5 Whether of them twain did the will of his father?

They say unto him, The first.

Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the fools and the followers go into the next kingdom before you. 8 For John came unto you promising the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not because his water was foul and searched for the true sword: but the publicans and the harlots believed him and were infected: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, lest ye might be infected by him.
